There are 2 child clearances that need to be completed for parents to volunteer their time. Clearances for Volunteers once obtained will be good for 60 months.
A. Child Abuse - Childline
B. PA State Police
C. FBI Fingerprinting - Only needed if you have not lived in state of Pennsylvania the last 10 consecutive years.
A. Child Abuse – Childline Clearance Instructions
(Information You Will Need)
- Addresses where you have previously lived since 1975.
- Names of all individuals with whom you have lived, including parents, guardians, siblings, spouses, ect. Since 1975.
- Any previous names you have used or have been known by.
1. Go to website – https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS
2. Click “Create Individual Account”
3. Click on “Next”
4. Create a Keystone ID by filling out required fields. *(Write Down your ID)
5. A temp password will be sent to your email.
6. Retrieve the password and go back to website – https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS and choose “Individual Login”
7. Choose “Access my Clearances”
8. Click “Continue” at the bottom
9. Login with ID and Temp Password.
10. Create a new password and choose close window and login with id and new password.
11. Choose – I have Read, fully understand….agree terms and conditions.
12. Then click “Next” at the bottom to continue.
13. Click “Create Clearance Application”
14. Click “Begin”
15. Choose, “Volunteer Having Contact with Children”
16. For Volunteer Category, Choose “Other”
17. For Agency Name, Enter – Richland AYSO Region 996
18. At the bottom hit, “Next”
19. Answer questions and hit “Next” at the bottom.
20. Answer questions on page and hit “Next” at bottom again.
21. Add all previous addresses you lived since 1975.
22. Hit “Next”
23. Add all household members you ever lived with since 1975.
24. Hit “Next”
25. Review information, Hit “Next”
26. Check the box that says you certify your information.
27. Type you name to Esign.
28. Say “No” when asked if there is an organization code.
29. Hit “Submit Application”
30. You will receive a response back within 14 days. Once you do you will either need provide me with a copy or email me a scanner or electronic copy to [email protected].
B. Pennsylvania State Police Clearance Instructions
1. Go to website – https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp
2. Click on Yellow Box that reads “New Record Check” Volunteers Only.
3. Check Box at bottom, Hit Accept.
4. If a Volunteer - Fill out requested information. *NOTE - For Volunteer Organization Name, put “Richland AYSO Region 996” and for Volunteer Phone Number leave it blank.
5. Make sure all fields with a Red * are completed.
6. Click Proceed Button to continue.
7. Fill in additional Required fields with Red * then click “Enter this Request” Button.
8. It will now show blank fields but at the bottom you should see “View Queued Record Request (1)”. Hit the “Finish” button.
9. Next Click the “Submit” button.
10. Write down your Control # and then click on it.
11. Click on “Certificate Form”
12. Click “OK”
13. Save it as a PDF and email it to [email protected].
C. FBI Fingerprinting
- If you have not been a resident in the state of Pennsylvania the last 10 consecutive years you must do the following.
1. Visit the website – https://www.pa.cogentid.com/index_pde.htm
2. Click on register online and follow the instructions.
3. There is a fee for getting the fingerprinting. You will be given a list of locations to obtain the fingerprints.
4. You will receive notification once the clearance has been completed. You will need to provide a copy of the results to me or email a scanned copy to [email protected]. You will need to also provide a copy of your receipt to receive a check to reimburse you for the amount the fingerprinting cost. We will only reimburse you for the fingerprinting if you have not lived in the state of Pennsylvania the last 10 years and the fingerprinting was required. Also, we will only reimburse volunteers who volunteer for either the Richland AYSO spring season or just the Richland AYSO fall season. If you volunteer for another AYSO region in the spring we will NOT pay for fingerprinting and you will need to seek reimbursement from your home region in the Spring.
